Seven recently-crowned Olympic champions among those in action as Diamond League resumes in Switzerland

Following a break for the Olympic Games in Rio, the Diamond League series moves on to Switzerland for Lausanne's Athletissima meet on Thursday (August 25) and seven recently-crowned Olympic champions are among those in action.

Double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson (pictured) takes on the 100m where she'll go up against her fellow Jamaican Christania Williams, Marie-Josee Ta Lou of Ivory Coast and Britain's Desiree Henry, while Caterine Ibarguen contests the triple jump.

Rio 1500m champion Matt Centrowitz again competes against Asbel Kiprop, but this time over 1000m, with Britain's Michael Rimmer stepping up from his usual 800m.

All the medallists - USA's winner Michelle Carter, New Zealand's two-time Olympic champion Valerie Adams and Hungary's Anita Marton - contest the shot put. The top three from the women's 400m hurdles and men's 110m hurdles are also in action - USA's Dalilah Muhammad, Denmark's Sara Slott Petersen and USA's Ashley Spencer, plus Jamaica's Omar McLeod, Spain's Orlando Ortega and France's Dimitri Bascou.

McLeod will also run the non Diamond-League 100m, and that field features Asafa Powell and Kim Collins, plus Britain's Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and sprinter turned bobsledder Joel Fearon, who stormed to a sub-10 second time last month with 9.96 in Bedford. Eilidh Doyle is also among those in the 400m hurdles field.

Genzebe Dibaba returns to action after her 1500m silver in Rio and steps up in distance as she takes on Kenya's Hellen Obiri and Mercy Cherono over 3000m. Britain's Lynsey Sharp, fresh from her PB performance in Rio, races the 800m and Martyn Rooney the 400m.

Keni Harrison ran her world 100m hurdles record of 12.20 in London and having not qualified for Rio, the American returns to the track in Lausanne to contest the non-Diamond League race against Britain's Olympic fourth-placer Cindy Ofili and USA's Dawn Harper-Nelson.

Renaud Lavillenie, Shawn Barber and Sam Kendricks are among the pole vault entries, while Britain's Robbie Grabarz goes in the high jump against Bohdan Bondarenko and Mutaz Essa Barshim. After being disappointed with her performance in Rio, Russia's Darya Klishina contests the long jump, as do Britain's Lorraine Ugen and Shara Proctor, plus Olympic champion Tianna Bartoletta.

Bobby Clay and Harriet Knowles-Jones are among those in the junior 1500m.

Entry lists can be found here.
